Weekdays can sometimes be toxic and tiring that sometimes we feel the need for a well-deserved vacation. But we do not have to avail our numbered vacation leave for that much-needed relaxation.
A staycation can be enough to unwind and relieve the stress we have from our routinary life.
And that’s exactly what my partner and I did just a weekend ago.
Since we only have the weekend to spare, we opted to book a night near where we always spend our weekends on – Tagaytay.
I personally researched hotels and inns where we can have a nice stay and one from the list is Estancia Resort Hotel.
A lot of hotels and resorts with Santorini-themed structures and interior have been popping-up from north to south of Luzon. Estancia Hotel Resort is one of the first hotels to have this unique design since it has been in operations since the early 90’s.
Location & How to Get There
The hotel is just along Tagaytay-Calamba Road.
I got there by driving from our house, which is just 15 minutes away from Tagaytay. But If you are coming from Metro Manila and would prefer riding the public transportation, you can take the bus either from Park ‘n Ride (Lawton) Terminal or Coastal Mall Bus Terminal, whichever is nearer to you.
Ride a bus going to Tagaytay and tell the bus conductor to drop you off at the jeepney terminal in Olivarez. Ask around for the jeepney going to People’s Park a.k.a Palace in the Sky. Again, you can also ask the driver to drop you off at Estancia Hotel Resort.
The Santorini Suite
It was soaking wet when we arrived in the hotel. We registered at the reception and then waited for us to be assisted to our room. Since the our room is about 10 minutes walk from the lobby, the staff asked us to wait because there is a golf cart bringing guests to their rooms. There were about 4 sets of guests waiting with us so we just decided to walk. Thankfully the rain has stopped already by that time.
We got the Santorini Suite with a lake view. For this type of accommodation, one can either choose to have two (2) single beds or one (1) queen-sized beds and we chose the latter. The room given to us was 36 sq.m. big with a balcony perfectly overlooking taal.
Amenities and other Features
Spa and Sauna
WIFI only available in the lobby
Like every other reviews, I would like to share how I find Estancia Resort Hotel based on the following categories:
> Location. The hotel is centrally located to all the must-see sites and must-try restos in Tagaytay, which is an added plus. We even got to go to the newly opened McDonald’s around the block for some needed caffeine at night.
> Staff. The staff of Estancia are accommodating and friendly. They have assisted us accordingly and with smiles on their faces. You might say, “but that is how it should be.” Well, based on personal experience, not all hotels have nice and friendly staff.
> Cleanliness. Since Estancia has been in the business for more than 2 decades now, they need some serious repainting of the whole place. Other than that, the surroundings are well-kept and still worthy of a stroll.
> Facilities and Amenities. I honestly did not dip into the pool because of that chilly Tagaytay weather when we there. But strolling around has been so refreshing. I personally liked their view decks with a panoramic view of Taal Lake. The downside I would say is that
> Food & Drinks. We dined out for dinner and check-out early for breakfast since we wanted to try the breakfast buffet at Balay Dako by Antonio’s. That doesn’t mean though that the food at Estancia’s is not worth a try. Anyone who tried their food are free to comment on how they will rate it down the comment section below.
It was a short stay but over-all, we enjoyed our time at Estancia.
Whether you go there as a couple or with your family and friends, I guarantee you a fun and relaxing stay.
